Codegogy – Pedagogy for Teaching Coding
Codegogy is an educative curriculum session for ADST teachers in BC who want to deepen their understanding of teaching text-based coding by considering both technical and pedagogical approaches to teaching kids how to code. Participants take part in a facilitator-guided discussion about the Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK) involved in teaching coding; topics include hardware and software considerations, programming language selection, computer lab setup, file management, pedagogy for coding, and designing scaffolded learning supports for students. Codegogy is open to educators who teach coding at any grade and with any level of background experience in teaching it.
